Terms of Service

ADAM. Last updated: 2 August 2026.
Draft — pending legal review. Written to describe the service accurately, but not reviewed by a lawyer and the operator details are unfilled. Complete and have it reviewed before relying on it.

1. Agreement

These terms govern use of ADAM, provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we"). By installing the client, connecting a machine, or using the hosted service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation.

2. What the service is

ADAM is a self-learning AI assistant. It records development activity from machines that have consented, distils it into a private knowledge base, and uses that knowledge — together with third-party AI models — to answer questions. It is offered self-hosted ("Sovereign") or hosted by us ("Team").

3. Current status — pilot

ADAM is pre-release software offered for evaluation. There is no uptime commitment, features may change or be removed, and data loss is possible. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Do not use it as a system of record.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Third-party AI providers

Answers not served from memory are produced by third-party models. On Bring-Your-Own-Key plans those calls run on your provider accounts, you are billed by them directly, and their terms apply. We do not control their output and are not responsible for its accuracy.

6. AI output

Output may be wrong, outdated, or unsuitable. Review it before acting on it, especially before running commands or deploying code. You remain responsible for what you do with it.

7. Your data and content

You retain all rights to your content. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you — storing, indexing and processing your content to answer your questions. We do not use your content to train models for other customers, and we do not sell it. Handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The ADAM software, documentation and branding remain ours. The repository is licensed proprietary, all rights reserved. Nothing here grants a licence to copy, resell or redistribute it.

9. Fees

Pilot access is currently free. Paid plans, if introduced, will be announced in advance and will not apply retroactively. On Bring-Your-Own-Key plans, AI provider costs are yours regardless of plan.

10. Termination

You may stop at any time: pause collection, revoke keys, uninstall. We may suspend access for breach of these terms or to protect the service. On termination you may request export or deletion of your data (see the Privacy Policy).

11. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced before taking effect. Continued use afterwards constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
